All Nobel Prize Winners by Gender

Originally uploaded by ChartsBin

with too much talk about women circles, the power and role of women, and our responsibility to give birth to the new year through winter solstice, i wanted to check who, according to the Nobel committee, gives birth to ideas, breakthroughs and progress. . .
wanna guess ?
😦 men.
between 1901-2009 only 41 women were “delivered” a Nobel prize.  During this time, the Nobel Prizes and the Prize in Economic Sciences have been awarded 829 times.

This chart shows All the Nobel Prizes and the Prize in Economic Sciences ranked by gender.

Total Number of Nobel Prizes and Prize in Economic Sciences Awarded Organizations: 23
Total Number of Men Nobel Prizes and Prize in Economic Sciences Laureates: 765 [92%]
Total Number of Women Nobel Prizes and Prize in Economic Sciences Laureates: 41

The two American women that received Nobel prize this year, did speak about the sacrifices a women has to make in order to get where they ended up.

How can you tell what’s right? how can you tell what would make one feel better? happier? more accomplished?

Thinking back about the birthing responsibility of women, I wonder why women generally give birth at home, quietly, in shadowed places, while men give birth in the spot light.

and so i wonder.

  1. If we look at the people who won Nobel Prizes how many deserved it in the light of future developments and will Obama deserve it? After all Nobel Prizes were provided by someone who wanted to atone for his contribution to deaths as I found at http://myamazingpeople.com/2010/01/23/peace-or-death/
